Eli and Leah are our Shlichim in the Wellington Jewish Community. They grew up in Sweden, but have been living for many years in Israel. Eli has studied at the Hesder yeshiva in Shilo and at the yeshiva in Bat Ayin for many years. Eli has a degree in graphic design and has also studied group dynamics, consumer behavior and conflict resolution at Gothenburg University. He has been involved in Bnei Akiva since his childhood days. He has experience in informal teaching, mainly for teenagers and students. Leah has studied psychology at Gothenburg University and early childhood education at Michlelet Efrata in Jerusalem. She has many years of teaching experience, both formal and informal, in different ages. Eli and Leah co-ordinated a program in Israel hosting overseas students for Shabbat and festivals. They had over 250 students passing through their home in Israel.

Eli and Leah are here with their daughter Sarah. Currently Eli and Leah are involved in many different aspects of Jewish life in Wellingon including Bnei Akiva, Sunday school, Moriah College, Chabureh – our teen’s weekly get together, Bar Mitzvah programmes, programmes for the festivals and so on. They are more than happy to invite the community members to experience a real Shabbat or festival feeling.
